General is an original name and tread pattern. A '55 Chevy, Buick, Cadillac etc. may have been delivered with
General tires. NO automobile was ever delivered with Coker, Universal, Lester or U.S. Royal tires. Additionally
General tires tend to weigh 1 or 2 pounds more than other brands and have greater tread depth for longer wear.
They last longer and were advertised that way.
Our new General 600-16 is a 4 ply polyester tire weighing 19 pounds compared to others of the same size which
may be only 2-ply and weigh only 16 -17 pounds.
